Sporting Events
As part of of our commitment to Sport and Physical Activity, Cherry Tree provides a range of activities both in P.E. lessons and outside of the curriculum.
P.E lessons help children to learn new skills, refine and improve existing skills, and learn other roles including that of the coach, official and score-keeper.
Level 1 competitions:
Our children take part in intra-school competition. We follow the Sainsbury's School Games formats for primary schools, which are designed as competitive challenges leading to a recognisable competition in that sport, helping pupils to learn the skills of the game - and how to win and lose.
These take place in P.E lessons, and also during lunchtimes as part of our inter-house competitons.
They include the following sports and activities:
HOCKEY BASKETBALL TENNIS JAILBREAK SPACEHOPPER RACES PANCAKE RACES CROSS- COUNTRY ROUNDERS BADMINTON FOOTBALL
Level 2 competitions:
Cherry Tree children partake in a wide range of inter-school competitions, against local and regional Schools. These competitions give our children the chance to represent their School and become part of a team. Most of them are run by our local School Games Organiser as part of the Sainsbury's School Games event.
We have been extremely successful in these competitions and are often rewarded with medals and trophies for our efforts! some examples are below:
