How to apply for a place at our school:

From 1st April, 2022, parents need to apply directly to the school for a place in-year (mid-year application).  It is hoped this will make the process easier for parents seeking a school place.

You will need to complete the appropriate form (see below) or available from the school's main office.  Once completed this form MUST be returned to the school.

If you have any queries about this process you can email:

  • If we have a space available we will send you an offer letter.
  • If we do not have a space and the request for a place is for an Infant class (Reception, Year 1 or Year 2) we will send you an Infant Class Size Refusal letter.
  • If we do not have a space and the request for a place is for a Key Stage 2 class (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6) we will send you a Refusal letter.

(We will also send a copy of the offer or refusal letter to ECC School Admissions for their information.)

This process is different to the normal Reception admission process when applying for a start of September (new academic year) place.  This continues to be administered by ECC Admissions.

The process for applying for a Nursery place at our school remains unchanged.

Nursery Admissions

Please be aware that attending our school Nursery does not guarantee your child a place to the main school i.e. Reception.  You will need to apply for a Reception place in the relevant main school round of admissions.

To apply for a Nursery place please contact the school main office for an application form.

Our Nursery can accommodate up to 52 children.  These places are offered as 26 AM or 26 PM places.  The AM session is 8.30 am - 11.30 am.  The PM session is 12.30 pm - 3.30 pm.  Our offer is 15 hours per week over Mondays-Fridays.

Appeals Timetable - This document has important information and dates relating to appeals for Secondary school offers (Monday, 1st March, 2021 and Primary school offers Friday, 16th April, 2021).

Applications for the 2021 school year are now closed.

If you wish to make a late application for a Reception school place, use the primary school admissions application form.

All applications received after 15 January 2021 will be treated as late and will only be processed after all on-time applications.

You are less likely to get a place at one of your preferred schools if you apply late.

Admission into Reception - September 2021

Parents can apply for Reception 2021 school places at an Essex primary school between 9 November 2020 and 15 January 2021.  Applications received after this date will be considered as late and not dealt with until after National Offer Day on 16th April 2021.

Before applying, Parents should visit the ECC website (link above) to check the following:

  • check that they live in the Essex administrative area (parents should apply via their home authority if not living in Essex)
  • read the primary school admissions booklet
  • check the priority admission (catchment) area for the schools they are interested in applying for.

NOTE:  There is no 'catchment guarantee' and the straight line distance of the last place offered varies year on year.
