Year 3

School Closure

Unfortunately, due to the current situation, the school was closed to most pupils from Friday 20th March. Home Learning packs were sent home, including some games for you to play together, but for those of you that are at home and are seeking extra learning opportunities, we will be uploading resources to the website on a weekly basis. Here are some ideas you can do together at home:

  • Read a book. You can take turns to read to each other, using a range of texts: fiction, non-fiction, websites, newspaper articles and any others you can think of.
  • Practise your times tables. Your login details for Times Table Rock Stars should be in your Reading Record.

If you need to contact us, we have now set up an email for each year group where parents can email have any questions or share work you have been completing. It would be great to hear from you to hear how you are all getting on! The Year 3 email address is:  year3@cherrytree-pri.essex.sch.uk We will be checking this account regularly and will do our best to respond to any queries you may have.

Take care of yourselves and your families, wash your hands regularly and remain at home as much as possible.

From Miss Baker and Mrs Poulton

***EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!***

Mrs. Poulton has started a Facebook group called 'Stories with Ange' where she is regularly reading children's stories, including not just the much-loved children's classics but also one of Jeremy Strong's books too! Jeremy Strong was Y3's key author this term and they had been enjoying his funny stories.

Parents, just search 'Stories with Ange' on Facebook - it would be great for Year 3 to have one of their own teachers reading to them again and Mrs. Poulton would love to hear from them via the Y3 email account if they have any requests for stories she could read next, or reviews of the stories she has already posted in the group.
