Hello everyone

This week we have a short week as Friday is a Bank Holiday.  But not just any holiday, we celebrate 75 years since the end of World War 2.  Some of our activities will be based around this special day, so enjoy!

We've included extra challenges and work  for those who have been asking for more challenges, but please do not feel you have to complete all of it.  Only if your little one feels up to it!

Remember to send us some pictures of your learning!  Have a good week and enjoy Friday's celebrations!

Happy Easter to all Reception children and their families.  We hope that you are all keeping safe and enjoying the sunshine the best you can.  We will be listing a few activities you might want to explore over the holidays, so please continue to check in on our Reception page.  Please send us some of your pictures of your leaning and exploring!

Writing - Draw the Easter Bunny.  Can you label your picture?  Write a sentence or even a story if you want a challenge!

Can you draw a picture of one of our chicks and write a story about them?

Can you help an adult make a shopping list?

Can you make a beautiful Easter card for your neighbour to make them smile?

Phonics - Keep practising your phonics using phonics Play and phonics songs!

Maths -  Can you use  your construction toys (lego) to create objects of different lengths?  Can you order them from shortest to longest?  Draw different sized Easter eggs.  Can you show your adult the biggest one, smallest, etc?

Can you go on a shape hunt around your house? What everyday objects did you find? Can you tell an adult what 2D or 3D shape it is?

Can you make a repeated pattern using toys or objects? Tell an adult what pattern you have made!

P.E - Keep following Joe Wicks videos and stay active!

Other activities - Can you use empty carboard boxes and tubs to make a castle? Try building a rocket, a robot, a car or anything else you can think of!

Can you create a parachute with an adult and test to see if it works using an egg? Did the egg crack or not?

Can you use some teddies to create your own story? Ask an adult if they can join you!

Can you go on a minibeast hunt and see what animals you can find? Look closely at their similarities and differences.

Physical Education

Joe Wicks, more commonly known as 'The Body Coach', is providing a live workout for children every weekday at 9am, on his YouTube Channel. You do not need to subscribe to join in! https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

This is a great way to keep children active while they are not able to go out as much as usual and could provide a fun start-of-day routine that they will look forward to.
