Nursery places are allocated to children aged three or four years old who are entitled to 15 hours or 30 hours funding.
Our Nursery sessions run as follows:
AM (morning) session 8.30 am - 11.30 am.
PM (afternoon) session 12.30 pm - 3.30 pm.
Our offer is 15 hours per week over Mondays-Fridays (term-time only).
(Please note: we do not 'mix and match' morning and afternoon sessions.
For those entitled to 30 hours funding, the sessions are 8.30 am - 3.30 pm.
Please see the Essex information site for EYFS funding (Help with childcare costs | Essex County Council) for more information on what funding your child may be eligible for.
For more information regarding Nursery places, please contact Cherry Tree Primary School directly,
Please be aware that attending our school Nursery does NOT guarantee your child a place in the main school, i.e. Reception. You will need to apply for a Reception place in the relevant main school round of admissions.
Costs
At CTPS Nursery we offer FEEE (Funded Early Education Entitlement). The term after a child's third birthday they are entitled to a 15 hours funded nursery hours. At CTPS we offer this as 5 morning ( 8.30-11.30am) OR five afternoon ( 12.30-3.30pm) sessions.
We are also able to offer a limited number of 30 hour places, these can be funded or the additional 15 hours can be paid for by parents/guardians. Please use the following website to find your entitlement: https://beststartinlife.gov.uk/
If you are required to pay for the extra 15 hours a week we will invoice you monthly and this will be sent by our school commination app (Studybugs) and will need to be paid for using 'School Money.' This is due to be paid prior to your child attending the sessions. Unfortunately, once paid, sessions cannot be refunded. The cost for this from 13th April 2026 will be £83.10 per week (£5,54 per hour). This is to ensure that we are in line with the advised rate set by Essex County Council. We also ask for a voluntary contribution towards snack, charged at £1 per week. Parents are asked to provide a packed lunch if their child is staying all day (this hour lunch break is not charged) and nappies and wipes if necessary.
Please contact Mrs M Brown (Office Manager), if you require any further information.
