What is a Key Person?

Every child in Nursery is allocated a 'Key Person'. This key person will help your child to become familiar within the Nursery and to feel confident and safe. Along with the other staff within the Nursery, they will develop a relationship with your child and with you as parents/carers. As parents/carers you are your child’s first and lifelong promoters of their development and learning. Working together, we can ensure a good understanding of your child's needs, leading to appropriate support within the Nursery. The key person’s role is to help ensure that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs. Working in partnership with parents and carers is fundamental within the EYFS at Cherry Tree and crucial in supporting children to make good progress and enjoy their learning journey.
