Eco School news and events

Our Eco Council is made up of enthusiastic pupils who care about looking after our planet. We meet every half-term to discuss ways our school can be more environmentally friendly — from saving energy and reducing waste to encouraging recycling and caring for our school grounds. Eco Council members share their ideas and gain feedback from their classes and help everyone think about how we can be mindful of the environment in our daily school life. Together, we’re making a difference for a greener future! Ways we have promoted being mindful and caring towards the environment:

  • Green recycling buckets are in every classroom for card and paper. These are emptied once a week by some of our KS2 councillors and helpers.
  • Last year, we planted daffodil bulbs around the school
  • Litter picking at lunchtime on the playground and field
  • Posters and raising awareness of the importance to pick up litter.
